The US Army MEDCOM recently renewed the warranty for the TAC-PAK systems on May 11th, 2015, in a contract initally valued at $15,904.00 -- though with options, may be valued at nearly $80,000. The TAC-PAK system is a high-end mobile command system, which are deployed all around the world to aid in communication efforts. Heavy-duty and reliable, the systems have been used by the military for years. While the firm holds two Federal Supply Schedules, this contract was fulfilled under their Schedule 58 I, which its held since August of 1999.
The Tactical Communication Package (TAC-PAK) concept was originally based upon California Highway Patrol requirements to quickly resolve freeway accidents. The "briefcase command center" concept was very well-received -- growing to 308 Systems primary product.
At first headquartered in Los Angeles, it moved to its current location in Fort Collins, CO in 2003. From this state-of-the-art facility, 308 Systems provides custom engineered ultra-mobile briefcase command and communication systems to Local, State, Federal and International government agencies. Its background dates to its 1993 founding as a software and radio system consulting company. Having significant expertise in the design of mobile information technologies, they have worked with agencies locally and around the world.
"We have worked with numerous agencies," says Mark Lueker, director at 308 Systems. "Each of our clients has slightly varied field command requirements which we addressed by customizing the TAC-PAK to meet their individual needs."
