The De Soto National Forest in Wiggins, MS awarded the small business contractor Stockstill, Dale, & Associates a $170,500.00 contract for landline maintenance on the 17th of August. The project is scheduled to begin immediately and conclude at the end of December 2015.
Stockstill, Dale, & Associates was able to achieve the contract award through an indefinite contract, first awarded in October of 2010, with a few modifications to extend it past its original completion date. This marks the latest in a string of jobs that the small Mississippi based firm has worked with the Forest Service, having predominately worked with the Department of Defense.
The specific details of the project include cadastral survey services in Holly Springs, Tombigbee, Delta, Bienville, De Soto and Chickasawhay (current), and finally Homochita.
Bill Chavers, president of the firm says, "We have enjoyed working on the project. It's nice to get a little detour from working with the Army. The work is strenuous, but some of the sights are amazing."
