The small Maryland-based firm Metro Office Solutions, Inc. was awarded a $262,554.69 for furniture on the August 7th, 2015 by the Federal Trade Commission. The order placed was for new office furniture at the New York regional office of the FTC -- including installation of the furniture.
Though relatively small in an industry dominated by giants, the woman-owned business has proven itself more than formidable in the government market -- averaging over three million a year in government contracts. Metro Office has positioned itself well with three schedule contracts, several set-asides, and a large catalog of offerings with a swift turnaround time.
President Minh-Duc Sheridan confirms, "We're not the biggest -- with huge corporations like Hon and Flexsteel out there. However, we have a huge amount of products, excellent services, and can help agencies gain their set-asides without sacrificing quality. We've done quick small orders, but also jobs in the millions, so we certainly prove that small businesses have a lot to offer our government."
