The General Services Administration awarded the small, Ohio-based business known as Calvin Electric, LLC a five-year, MAS contract on October 5th, 2015. Awarded Schedule 03FAC, Calvin Electric hopes to provide quality electrical services to the government agencies in its area.

A relatively new business, Calvin Electric began in 2011, and is a collaboration of highly trained electricians with a combined 75 years of experience in every aspect of electrical work. Having worked primarily on commercial projects like a complete maintenance of a storage facility in Dayton, OH and several education institutes like Sinclair Community College, Calvin Electric turned toward the government market to lend a hand to federal end-users. In 2012, it helped in upgrading the IMAX theater at the Wright Patterson Air Force Museum, and they've been pushing for more government experience since.

"It's not an easy process," Sheila Moore of Calvin Electric noted about gaining a schedule contract. "There's a lot of red tape and tedium, but we had great help from a professional firm called Government Marketplace -- they really cut through all of that. Now, we're hoping to make the lives of procurement officers around here a little easier in hiring us. As one of only a handful of small businesses in Ohio in our industry, we hope to really be that go-to option for a lot of the military establishments in our area."
