Gibsonia, PA: Tom Crea delivered a workshop to the Pennsylvania Professional Employment Network (PAPEN) North. PAPEN is a Pittsburgh-based networking organization that helps participants advance their careers.

Tom addressed how to use individual assessment results to help participants learn more about themselves so they can apply this understanding of communication styles with those they meet during their job search.

Tom outlined the four DISC communication styles and provided the participants with tip sheets for determining another person's style by answering two questions:
• Is this person introverted or extroverted?
• Is this person task-oriented or people oriented?

By learning to answer these questions, leaders can identify the other person's communication style. With this knowledge, participants are now able to speak the other person's language, building the necessary bridges to improved communication that are critical for any relationship.

Participants developed an increased understanding of others' communication styles. With this increased understanding, leaders can practice applying these insights with family and friends, and then return with confidence to apply more successfully in the workplace.
