Wexford, PA:: Tom Crea delivered a workshop to Priority Two members. Priority Two offers job search programs that center on the individual as a valued resource and their relationship with others. Priority One is to look towards a God centered relationship first,
Tom addressed individual assessment results and communication styles for success.
Thanks for showing the importance of self-awareness and how it affects us. (I need to) be aware of my communication style and how to be aware of other people's styles.
-- Ann Cummings-Krause
Very good presentation. Valuable ideas on self-awareness. (I'll) know who I am speaking to and make sure I'm speaking the right language.
-- Will Krugle
Good presentation. Valuable ideas on leadership presence. I'm going to practice focusing on the other person's style.
-- Andrew McCarthy
Tom outlined the four DISC communication styles and provided the participants tip sheets for determining another person's style by answering two questions:
* Is this person introverted or extroverted?
* Is this person task-oriented or people oriented?
By learning to answer these questions, leaders can identify the other person's communication style. With this knowledge, participants are now able to speak the other person’s language, building the necessary bridges to improved communication that are critical for any relationship.
Participants developed an increased understanding of others' communication styles. With this increased understanding, leaders can practice applying these insights with family and friends, and then return with confidence to apply more successfully in the workplace.
