CTI Helps USP Implement Managed Print and Security

May 31st, 2017 - by CTI | Share on:

The United States Pharmacopeial Convention (USPC) had over 250 devices ranging from simple fax machines to multi-functional devices (MFD). The USPC only had a limited amount of space and needed to consolidate their fleet. There was also a potential security issue, as no authorization procedures/hardware existed to protect the devices. It was also determined that an inefficient ordering system was leading to USPC spending more money than it had to.

A solution was put into place, by Cartridge Technologies Inc. (CTI), to standardize the fleet. A method was initiated for secure printing and scanning. (Use of ID card authentication) To reduce the amount of fax machines, a cloud fax solution was employed. To eliminate ineffective ordering, a maintenance contract was introduced.

The results of the solutions that were implemented are numerous and positively impacted how USPC operates its fax, scan, and print operations. First, CTI reduced the total number of devices, which gave the USPC more space. CTI also allowed USPC to print, scan, and fax in a more secure environment. Finally, by implementing a managed print maintenance contract, under one vendor, it helped to reduce USPC costs.
