General Services Administration (GSA) scheduled JTR onsite Training for USARAK at Anchorage and Fairbanks, AK, in May 2017. T & T Solutions provided instructors under its GSA contract and designated Bill Tirrell as the instructor for the Alaskan classes. Bill instructed the Joint Travel Regulation (JTR) Temporary Duty class and Approving Official class for USARAK in Anchorage, May 15-17, 2017 and in Fairbanks May 20-22, 2017.

The classes were well received and he received excellent reviews. I asked Bill for feedback on the classes. Following are his comments: "Alaska, while famous for its Midnight Sun for part of the year, is also famous for its eager students and gracious hosts. While teaching uniformed TDY to primarily Army folks in Anchorage and Fairbanks, I was most impressed with the eagerness of the attendees to learn - and ask questions - about the variety of TDY situations in which their commands find themselves. Not only did the students enjoy the classroom work, but the support personnel were exceptional and the teaching facilities were grand! I was fortunate to be there during the summer so a 'road trip' between Anchorage and Fairbanks added to the enjoyment of the 49th state for me."

Bill's knowledge, experience, and ability to teach are incomparable. He graduated from the Naval Academy and served over 20 years on active duty in the Navy. Bill served on the Military Advisory Panel (MAP) of the Per Diem, Travel and Transportation Allowance Committee (PDTATAC). Retiring after 20 years in the Navy, Bill worked on travel and transportation in various government departments including: Travel Specialist for GSA, Chief of Travel and Transportation, U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters (where he represented the Coast Guard's military travel and transportation policy and procedures), and for almost 20 years as Travel and Transportation Chief for PDTATAC - the organization that provides policy and regulations for all uniformed Services and Defense Department civilian employees.
