(COGAR), a leading security and protection services firm, announces that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Protective Service (FPS) has awarded the firm with a contract to perform Armed Protection Security Officer (PSO) Services for federal facilities in the State of South Florida.

FPS is the law enforcement and security arm of the National Protection and Programs Directorate (NPPD). FPS is responsible for safeguarding and protecting federally owned or leased facilities and assets while providing a secure environment for visitors and Federal Agencies to conduct business. This contract covers approximately four Counties and consist of over 40 buildings in the South Florida area. The requirement is for a 24/7 operation comprised of over 200 trained and certified PSOs.

The COGAR Group, Ltd. was awarded this contract as a competitive Small Business set-aside through the GSA Schedule 84 contract. The contract for the base and all option periods is valued at over $102mil. This is a follow-on requirement and COGAR was tasked to transition this massive contract within a thirty (30) day period with a contract start date of October 1, 2015.
