The Financial Services Center (FSC) in Austin, Texas, operating as a VA Enterprise Center, provides a full range of financial services to the Department of Veterans Affairs and other Federal agencies. As an Enterprise Center of the VA Franchise Fund, the FSC provides services on a fee-for-service basis and receives no Federal appropriated funding.

In May, Carol Washburn, one of T & T Solutions' instructors, provided two weeks of intensive GSA Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) training at the VA Financial Services Center. The training included Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) Regulations, Relocation Allowances, and Relocation Income Tax Allowance (RITA) classes. Carol is recognized as an expert on Federal travel matters and has been teaching for 25 years.

The VA accounting supervisory staff and employees who process travel and Relocation Income Tax Allowance payments nationwide attended the FTR classes. The main purpose of the training was to discuss current FTR rules and regulations and teach the class how to interpret and apply them when processing travel claims and making payments.The VA staff were very professional, attentive and courteous. They contributed greatly to class discussions. One of the students commented, "I really enjoyed the experience of learning the FTR/RITA laws and having them explained in an understandable and interesting manner."

Carol enjoyed teaching the classes and the warm climate, hospitality and Texas style BBQ of the famous Capital city of Texas.
