The Department of Justice provides critical public safety and law enforcement support services statewide. There are approximately 500 sworn peace officers and 600 other law enforcement personnel involved in such services as criminal investigations ranging from high-tech and white collar crime to acts of violence, narcotics enforcement, gambling control, criminal history information, and forensic laboratory services. The California Justice Information Services provides criminal justice intelligence, identification, information and technology services to law enforcement, regulatory agencies and the public.
The Solution: The Department of Justice contracted with Microsan Consultancy Services, LLC to tackle the issue. As part of fraud and criminal investigation, often times the investigators need to go back in time to find out specific records of the accused person's(or groups) activities. For this they have to work through numerous (Gigabites) of data to find a particular incident in a particular date and time, 100's of tables might have to be joined with PLSQL / interfaces so that the expected result can be achieved. Microsan helped them in achieving this. The main objectives of the web reporting application development and hosting is
1. Migrating the copy of oracle database ( 500 GB size, over 5 Billiion unique records) to Microsan's Cloud hosting solution.
2. Work with legal team to help them run queries and explain the reports to the team.
